Winning at Walgreen's

I haven't been going to Walgreen's too much in the past year since I stocked up pretty well last summer.  Also, if I watch the sales at Meijer, combined with coupons, I can still do pretty well.  This week they had a great deal on Starbucks coffee.  I was able to get 3 packages for 15 bucks.  But first, I bought two Coppertone products, spent 16 bucks with a $5/2 coupon and got $10 RR  back.  I used that RR to buy the coffee and 2 Suave shampoos ($1 each) and paid about 7 bucks and got $2 RR.  Fun!

Winning at Walgreens

2 12 pk of Cottonelle Ultra
2 Great Grains cereal
4 Nature Valley Granola bars
Total OOP $8.54 and I have $5 RR to spend next time
No Meijer deals this week (for me anyway!).

Winning at Walgreens

I haven't been to Walgreen's in about a month but this week was a good week.  I spent more out of pocket than I would have liked to because they were out of things the first 2 times I went in this week, but I still got some useful items for my stockpile.

Total OOP was about $12 and I have $8 RR to spend next time.

To put things in perspective, a friend on facebook had about 10x the amount of stuff from Walgreens and only spent $14 OOP.  Um, wow?!  However, she went to 3 stores for a total of 9 transactions.  If I wasn't hauling all my kids with me and didn't mind aggravating the cashiers, I might try that too.  But this works for me and it helps my family's bottom line so I'll just keep at it.  :-)

Winning at Walgreens

1 Keri lotion, 4 travel size Degree, 1 Smart Rinse, 5 mini notebooks
I spent about $4 OOP and have $5 RR left. The Degree was a deal that didn't work. I had read that you were supposed to get a $4 RR when you bought 4. Fortunately, I used coupons so I didn't spend that much on them and they make a great donation item.

Total OOP was about a dollar and I earned $2 in RR. The Suave lotion was free with a coupon I got in the mail. I used 2 coupons for 75 cents off Caress plus some RRs. I may go one more time today to see if they have any Keri lotion left.

Winning at Walgreens: Take 2 this week

Took all 4 boys to Walgreens with me this morning and it went surprisingly well. I had enough coupons for 2 tubs of Huggies wipes but somehow the cashier only rang up one and I didn't realize it until I got home. Anyway, spent about $4.50 on the above and have $5.50 in RR for next time.

Winning at Walgreen's

So here's what I was able to get at Walgreen's this week. Everything in the above photo cost me about 7 bucks. Even though I went at 5 PM, there was no one at the cash register so I could do 3 separate transactions. My total would have been much higher if I had done it in one transaction. Plus, I have $7.50 in RR to use next time.

Forgot about doing these posts and I'm just starting to get back into it after a bunch of weeks with dud deals.
No pic, but last week I got 2 Mitchum deo (free after coupons and RRs) and 2 12 ct Cottonelle tp ($3 each after coupons and RRs). This week looks like a good week so I'll try post a pic.

Free is always good

It was a very good week for me at Walgreen's. Everything in the above picture was free after coupons and register rewards.

Winning at Walgreens

So I'm going to post all my Walgreen's trips with the above title. I may have gotten that name from some other blog but I'm not sure where, and since I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a copy right, I'm going with it. And if these posts bore you, just skip them. I won't be offended, I promise. Ok, maybe just a little bit. Kidding! The posts are for my benefit too so I can go back and look at what the best prices on things are.

So, without further ado, here are a couple Walgreen's trips.
On Saturday, I stopped at two Walgreen's in a vain attempt to score some free toothpaste. Alas, it was not to be. A kind cashier informed me that the higher ups hadn't ordered enough toothpaste for the stores so they were totally out. BUT I was still able to get some cheap deodorant and instant coffee:

Total OOP: I lost my receipt! But it was less than 5 bucks and I got $8 RR.
The instant coffee was out at the first 2 stores. I was able to find 4 at the last store by scrounging around at the back of the shelf. They were $1 each and I got back $4 RR when I bought 4.

Today's trip:

4 Quaker Oats, 3 Purex, 1 Herbal Essence shampoo, 1 Herbal Essence hairspray, 1 Colgate, 4 chocolate bunnies
Total OOP: $6.50 and received $5 RR.

So you may have been noticing that all of my pictures have a little something in them that was bought without coupons and seems to be a fluff item. The rule with RRs is that you have to have the same number of items as coupons in order to use the RR. RRs, Wags coupons, and manufacturers coupons all count. I had a total of 14 coupons and RRs so I needed 14 items. So I added in 4 chocolate bunnies at 39 cents each. I'm sure the boys will be glad I did tomorrow. :-)

Score!

My Walgreens trip:

2 Folgers coffee @ $2.79 each
2 Skintimate shave gel @ $2 each
1 Speedstick @ $1.99
1 Gummy Lifesavers @ $1

Minus family and friends discount: 15% off total order, before coupons (only available today)
Minus coupons: $2 off each coffee, 55 cents off each shave gel, 50 cents off Speedstick
Minus RR: $5
Total: 39 cents + $3 in RR

They also have toothpaste on sale that I will be able to get free with coupons and RR, but they were all out. I'm going to check another Walgreens while I'm out tomorrow. I will also pick up some more deodorant since I have more coupons.
