A time to be born and a time to die

From my cousin Aaron's facebook page:

"It was one year ago that Grandpa Roffel passed away, followed 10 days later by Grandma. Here they are with their only great-granddaughter. Hard to believe a year later we'd be without all three of them. Our loss is heaven's gain."

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:9-11

Comfort for Believing Parents at the loss of a dear child

Canons of Dordt, article 17

"Since we are to judge of the will of God from His Word, which testifies that the children of believers are holy, not by nature, but in virtue of the covenant of grace, in which they, together with their parents have no reason to doubt of the election and salvation of their children, whom it pleaseth God to call out of this life in their infancy."

In loving memory of Anna Sophia Roffel.

The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;

    may the name of the Lord be praised.”
